Channeling Wyeth

Watercolor on paper
I was inspired by an exhibition of Andrew Wyeth: Looking Out, Looking In, at the National Gallery which captured rich sensorial moments in watercolor. The first piece was my attempt to learn his techniques by replicating Frostbitten, 1962. The following paintings explore the palimpsest of history I have found in places I have visited, including the Hacienda at Scribe Winery in Sonoma, CA, which I helped to renovate while an architect at Aidlin Darling Design.
